Flight Lab

Certified comparative analysis of unassisted human flapping. Every reading is logged. The ground has never lost.

What We Do

The Institute of Comparative Aerodynamics exists to measure, log, and formally compare the flap rate of the human arm against the flap rates of birds that have never had this problem.

Every third flap generates a new Reading: a frequency, a percentage, and a short remark the Institute stands fully behind.

Methodology

Flap Rate is smoothed over the last several flaps and decays automatically the moment flapping stops, which the Institute considers only fair.

The Required Rate (18.0 Hz) is drawn from the Institute's hummingbird reference data and has never once been contested successfully.

Liftoff Progress

Liftoff Progress rises with flap rate and falls the moment you slow down, which the Institute notes is the correct behavior for something that was never going to happen anyway.

The Institute ceiling sits at 6.0%. No recorded attempt, flapper, or input device has ever crossed it.

Certification Policy

As of the most recent internal review, the ground has retained its position in one hundred percent of recorded sessions. This policy has never changed and is not expected to.

Legal

Flight Lab is provided for entertainment purposes only. No flight occurred, no hummingbirds were consulted directly, and no readings were altered to spare anyone's feelings.
